I’ve been going through a rough several weeks since mid March when CANCER struck my left lung. After nearly 4-months waiting for Medicare to acknowledge the request for an oncologist and authorize procedures to take place, it finally came to light July 1.
I’m now under the care of a Dr. Brook, a resident of the Comprehensive Cancer Center located in Palm Springs. I’ve had my “test chemo-therapy” 3 weeks ago and I am due for my “first real chemo-therapy” session tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. The “IV-Drip” will run for 3-hours… and I’m told by several that I’ll feel like I’ve been hit with a MackTruck for a week. I get to “recover” for two-weeks, then get hit again with the chemo. I sure hope I either go quick or survive to live another 20 or so. Either way, it appears to be a rough road ahead. Wish me luck.

I wish you all the best, my friend.
Hey DanO… many thanks for the well wishes. Today, Thusday, Aug 23 I go in for my first full 3-hr chemo treatment. I don’t know exactly what to expect (like being hit with a mack truck for a week) but I’m sure to find out. I’ll let you know when I get my typing fingers limbered up.

Hello Debbie & Tom…
Thank you so much for your kind thoughts and prayers. I miss being more able to move around and create dialogue about our part of the world… I can only hope to recover.

Bill, thoughts and prayers going your way, still loved the way we met at Walmart, me with a bag of garden seeds and you wanting to know what I was going to do with all of them.. the next time was gathering alpaca and llama beans for our plants… quite a weird 2 meetings but so glad I had the chance to meet you…

Jeanne

Sending prayers your way Bill.
Thank you Margo… that’s very kind of you.
Last Thursday, Sep 13, I had my third session of chemotherapy. Started at 10 a.m. and finished with the IV drips 15 to 5 p.m. For about 2+ weeks thereafter, I feel weak, no energy, and seem to need lots of bed time. Not much energy to improve this web site either… fatigue sets in pretty quick… even just from sitting up. But, I’ll post something from time to time.
